May is Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Month in Queensland. The purpose of the month is to help raise help community awareness and send a clear message that domestic and family violence will not be tolerated.
Everyone in the community has a role to play in raising awareness. Here are a few ways you can be involved.
- Make a banner, a sign, a candle, put on your walking shoes and join us for the Remembrance March and Candle Vigil on Wednesday May 5th.
- Follow Domestic Violence Action Centre on socials to help keep the conversation going and raise awareness: Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn.
- Host your own event, it could be a morning tea or crochet for a cause, a dinner party or a walk, anything that could help raise awareness.
- Approach us for a community talk or to be a guest speaker at your event: click here to email us.
- Attend local events.
